Goa Board
The Goa Board of Secondary &
Higher Secondary Education is the main state board of education native to the state of Goa.
The board was established in 1975 and responsible for the management of
secondary and higher secondary education in its affiliated schools.
Major Functions/duties performed by the Goa Board are as follows--
ü Granting and withdrawing the
recognition to the Schools.
ü Helps
the government on policy related to education in general and other
matters
ü Prescribe curricula and syllabi for
the entire secondary and higher secondary schools .
ü Prepare the detailed syllabi for
secondary and higher secondary education.
ü Lay down the standard requirement in
respect of staff, buildings, furniture, equipment, stationery and other
amenities required for secondary and higher secondary schools.
ü Prepare text-books for all standards
of secondary and higher secondary education.
ü Schedule the examination.
ü Declare the results of the candidates
at the final examinations conducted by it
Goa board conducts examination twice a
year--
1. Std X in months of March and October
2. Std XII in the months of March, June
and October.
